WA Custom Truck Painters is seeking an Apprentice Panel Beater to join their vehicle repair and refinishing workshop in Belmont.

The business works across trucks, heavy machinery and a range of other vehicles, providing panel beating, body repairs, surface preparation, custom painting and refinishing.

This is a hands-on opportunity to learn alongside qualified tradespeople while developing practical panel beating, fabrication and repair skills.

Your duties will include:

• Assisting qualified panel beaters with repairs to trucks, machinery and other vehicles
• Learning how to assess vehicle damage and identify required repairs
• Removing, repairing and replacing damaged panels, doors, bumpers and other components
• Straightening, shaping, cutting and fitting metal panels
• Preparing surfaces and components for welding, filling and refinishing
• Dismantling and reassembling vehicle components
• Learning basic welding, panel fabrication and metalworking techniques
• Using hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment safely
• Measuring, aligning and fitting body components
• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe workshop
• Completing required on-the-job training and apprenticeship assessments

The ideal candidate will have:

• A genuine willingness to learn in a hands-on workshop environment
• Good attention to detail
• A reliable and punctual approach to work
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• A strong work ethic and practical attitude
• Good hand-eye coordination and an interest in working with tools and machinery
• The ability to follow instructions and workplace safety procedures

• A current driver’s licence is preferred but not essential
• A relevant pre-apprenticeship or previous workshop experience would be advantageous but is not essential
• Applicants must have the right to work in Australia and meet apprenticeship requirements
